Bill Daus is the Chief of the Research Directorate Systems Branch in the Division of Information Systems within the National Science Foundation. Since joining NSF in 2015, he has been leading the modernization of the proposal preparation and submission process. Mr. Daus’ agile journey started as a developer on a scrum team 10 years ago at a now defunct startup. He then led several agile software development and engineering projects on US Government contracts, and he aided the integration of agile into the company’s CMMI Level 3 accredited process. At NSF, he functions as a Product Owner, he facilitated several transitions from waterfall to agile, and he contributed to the adoption of the Scaled Agile Framework across the organization. Mr. Daus has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Systems and Information Engineering from the University of Virginia.
