Mapping Organizational Roles to SAFe Roles

Mapping of traditional development roles to the new roles in SAFe seems theoretically simple but, in practice it can be quite challenging. Organizations cannot just slot people into roles based on tangible skills, they need to invite them to participate. For that people need to understand the transformation vision and timing, how their role will change, and most importantly, that they are secure in their job.

In this session, we will importance and challenges of mapping organizational roles to roles in SAFe. We will explore:

  • Creating the transformation vision that motivates / compels them to participate
  • How you should go about informing people about changes
  • The timing for when you begin to discuss role changes
  • What traditional roles map to SAFe roles
  • Mapping requires consideration of not only hard and soft skill, but also skills, competencies, and other attributes.
