Applying SAFe to Cyber-Physical Systems

Many systems in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and others have significant hardware (electrical, mechanical) development efforts as part of their solution. In addition, these systems must meet rigorous compliance requirements. Adopting SAFe in these organizations can meet with resistance – “”it doesn’t work for hardware”” or “”we can’t meet our regulatory obligations””. Yet, organizations within these industries can gain substantial benefits adopting Lean-Agile principles and SAFe. This session discusses the application of SAFe in highly-regulated, cyber-physical systems development. The principles and the practices are indeed universal and will show how they apply through real examples from these industries. We will also discuss some common points for resistance and strategies for mitigating that resistance when applying the SAFe Roadmap.
